INDUCTION OF DIRECTOR GILBERT BWIRE WANGALWA

The Board of Directors of the National Irrigation Authority, led by the Chairman, Eng. Gilbert Maluki, together with representatives from Senior Management, led by Eng. Charles Muasya, MBS, is pleased to announce the induction of Director Gilbert Bwire Wangalwa, who joins the Board as the Council of Governors representative.

The induction was held on July 29, 2026, at the Authority’s Headquarters at Irrigation House, where Director Gilbert Bwire Wangalwa was formally welcomed and presented with key institutional documents including: The Constitution of Kenya (2010), Irrigation Act (2019), Strategic Plan 2023–2027, Mwongozo Code of Governance, State Corporations Act (2015), and the NIA Code of Conduct and Ethics for Directors following his appointment vide Gazette Notice No. 10667, Vol. CXXVIII – No. 120 dated July 17, 2026.

He was also briefed on the Authority’s mandate, ongoing programs and strategic priorities. His induction reflects NIA’s commitment to good governance and the effective integration of new Board members.
