DOUBLE WIN FOR NIA AT KISUMU AGRICULTURAL SHOW
Today, the Deputy Governor of Kisumu County, Dr. Mathew Owili, officially opened the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Kisumu National Show. He was accompanied by other ASK officials including the Chairperson Kisumu National Show, Mrs. Rose Omollo and County officials.
Before this, he visited several exhibitions including the Authority’s stand. In his visit, he was impressed by the comprehensive display of integrated irrigation solutions.
He commended NIA for its continued support to the ASK Show and its unwavering dedication to advancing sustainable irrigation infrastructure across the country. The Deputy Governor highlighted the Authority’s innovative approaches, noting their significant role in driving climate-smart agriculture and sustainable economic growth, particularly in Kisumu County and the wider Lake Region.
Later, he awarded the Authority the trophy as the stand that Best interpreted the current show theme as well as a trophy from the Chairman’s Commendation.
The awards recognise NIA’s outstanding interpretation of this year’s show theme: “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.” It also underscores the Authority’s leadership in irrigation development and its valuable partnership with stakeholders in transforming Kenya’s agricultural sector.
