NIA SHOWCASES IRRIGATION INNOVATIONS AT 2026 ASK SHOW

The National Irrigation Authority (NIA) is participating in this year’s Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show happening from 22nd to 26th July 2026 under the theme “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”

Guided by its mandate to develop, manage and regulate sustainable irrigation infrastructure for enhanced food security and agricultural productivity, NIA is showcasing how reliable irrigation drives agricultural transformation across the country.

Through irrigation, farmers in schemes such as Mwea, Ahero, West Kano, Bunyala among others achieve consistent, high-quality yields year-round, moving from rain-fed uncertainty to stable and commercially viable agricultural production.

During the show, the Authority will be exhibiting integrated irrigation solutions, including advanced technologies, precision water management systems, the System of Rice Intensification (SRI), post-harvest infrastructure and value chain linkages that turn irrigated agriculture into a profitable enterprise for smallholder farmers.

The Authority warmly welcomes visitors to the stand to explore these innovations, interact with technical experts and discover how irrigation is powering sustainable agricultural growth and food security in Kenya.
