The National Irrigation Authority (NIA) Chief Executive Officer, Eng. A key milestone of the session was the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between NIA and SSA Market Development Growth Segment, paving way for secure collaboration under the Rice Enhancement Programme.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders to align on the pilot dynamics for the Tana and Bura Irrigation Schemes, with Governor in attendance to provide strategic guidance, underscoring the importance of the schemes to the County. The agenda featured a presentation from Mastercard on the Rice Enhancement pilot’s offtaking focus, a briefing from Frontman Consultants on findings from the Tana River Mission and a presentation from NIA on pilot roll-out feedback, culminating in a collaborative alignment discussion.

This collaborative effort aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), reinforcing our shared commitment to driving food security, economic growth, and sustainable agricultural transformation in the rice ecosystem across Tana and Bura.
