MWEA IRRIGATION SHCEME UNIT LEADERS CONDUCTED ELECTIONS FOR IRRIGATION WATER USERS ASSOCIATION (IWUA) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Today, the Mwea Irrigation Scheme unit leaders conducted elections for Irrigation Water Users Association (IWUA) Executive Committee under the supervision of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

They elected Mr. Geoffrey Ciira as the new IWUA Chairman, Peter Chege as Vice Chairman, James Kiarie as Secretary, Michael Kimani as Vice Secretary and Michael Kinyua as Treasurer. In addition, Julian Wairimu was elected to the (Gender) position, while Tumbo Gregory Patrick (Kiamanyeki), Jeremiah Mugo Munene (Curukia) and Patrick Muthii Njamwea (Thiba) were elected as the other representatives to the Executive Committee.

The successful election of the Mwea IWUA Executive Committee leaders marks a key milestone in strengthening farmer-led governance, enhancing accountability and improving coordination in the management of irrigation resources within the Mwea Irrigation Scheme.
