Following the appointment of George Gatongu Githae, Mary Kanana Mwiti and Ubah Kahiye as members of the Board of Directors of the National Irrigation Authority by the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Hon. Alice Wahome via Gazette Notice No.9562 dated July 18,2023, they were inaugurated into office today at the Head Office in a ceremony presided over by Eng. Gilbert Maluki , the Chairman of National Irrigation Authority.
Thereafter they were handed over instruments of power by the Chairman in the presence of other Board Members including Aboud Moeva, Charles Kairu, Eng. Laban Kiplagat, Eng.Samwel A.O Alima, EBS and Mr.Victor Momanyi and the Ag.CEO, Eng.Charles Muasya and the Authority’s Management.
During their inauguration, the Board of Directors met NIA staff and committed to support the Authority actualize its vision of providing water to every irrigable acre and enhancing collaborations with stakeholders with a view to mobilizing resources for irrigation.
