Following the appointment of Eng. Gilbert Maluki as Chairman of the National Irrigation Authority Board by the President His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H. via Gazette notice Vol. CXXV-No.116 dated May 19, 2023, he was inaugurated into office today at the Head Office in a ceremony presided over by a Commissioner of Oaths.
Thereafter, the outgoing Chairman Hon. Eng. Joshua Toro, REng MIEK handed over instruments of power to the new Chairman in the presence of Board Members, including Ms. Fatma El Maawy, Mauritius Mutugi, Aboud Moeva, Charles Kairu, Eng. Laban Kiplagat, and the Ag. CEO, Eng. Charles Muasya. The Authority’s Management team also joined the handover ceremony.
During his inaugural address to the staff, the Chairman committed to steer the Authority towards actualizing its vision of providing water to every irrigable acre by providing leadership and enhancing collaborations with stakeholders with a view to mobilize resources for irrigation expansion through Public Private Partnerships and other avenues.
