Today, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Eng. Eric Mugaa hosted H.E Hiroshi Matsuura Ambassador of Japan to Kenya, at Maji House, Nairobi for a courtesy call.

The meeting which was also attended by the NIA CEO Eng Charles Muasya, MBS reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between Kenya and Japan in the water and irrigation sector, focusing on infrastructure development, technology transfer, capacity building in water resource management and irrigation systems, aiming to improve water access and agricultural productivity in Kenya.

During the discussions, the parties present reviewed ongoing collaborations through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is helping in irrigation development in Mwea and Ahero Irrigation Schemes.
