Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) Council courtesy call to National Irrigation Authority.

Today the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) council members led by the President Eng. Shammah Kiteme paid a courtesy call to National Irrigation Authority. They were received by NIA CEO Eng. Charles Muasya, MBS, Eng. Loise Kahiga (Head of Infrastructure), Eng. Jairus Serede (Head of Planning and Strategy) and other engineers from the Authority.

The meeting was centered on exploring potential areas for collaboration aimed at mentoring engineers and enhancing the visibility of infrastructural projects within the irrigation sector. Both parties expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing on the potential for transformative impact on food security initiatives in Kenya.

Eng. Charles Muasya, MBS emphasized on the commitment to innovation and sustainability in the irrigation sector. He shared insights on the Authority’s latest projects and technological advancements in the country.

Eng. Shammah Kiteme echoed these sentiments, noting the importance of providing engineers with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to drive progress.

The discussions also addressed the need for more involvement on forums where aspiring engineers may receive hands-on training and guidance from experienced professionals, helping to close the knowledge gap between the academic and practical application.
