THE NATIONAL IRRIGATION AUTHORITY (NIA) PARTICIPATED IN THE 9TH AFRICA AGRI-EXPO 2026.

The National Irrigation Authority (NIA) is participating in the 9th Africa Agri-Expo 2026 which started today at KICC. The Authority actively engaged with key stakeholders, innovators, private sector players and development partners.

The engagements provided a platform for knowledge exchange on climate-smart irrigation, digital agriculture and sustainable water management solutions

The Authority had the honour of hosting the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, EGH at the booth who interacted with the NIA team on ongoing irrigation programmes and digital innovation initiatives.

The Africa Agri-Expo provided a valuable platform for showcasing NIA’s mandate, strengthening partnerships and advancing conversations on sustainable agriculture, food security and economic empowerment in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BeTA).

In the last day for the 2026 Africa Agri-Expo, the National Irrigation Authority (NIA) continued to engage stakeholders, innovators and partners on irrigation development, digital agriculture and sustainable water management solutions.

The Kitui County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture and Livestock Ministry; Dr.Stephen Mbaya Kimwele toured our booth where he interacted with the NIA team and was briefed on ongoing irrigation programmes and partnership opportunities.

Additionally, Eng. Jarius Serede, Director Irrigation Management Services, delivered a presentation highlighting status of irrigation in Kenya and the available investment opportunities.

The Authority was later recognized with a trophy as a key supporting partner by TAB group, the planners of the Expo. The two day Expo provided a key platform for strengthening collaborations, sharing knowledge and showcasing innovations that support Kenya’s agricultural transformation in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BeTA).
