This will benefit up to 135,000 people through enhanced food security, increased farm incomes, and job creation.
Lower River Lumi and Murabani Irrigation Project (Mboghoni Village, Matta Location) draws water from Njoro Kubwa Springs. It is at 85% completion.
The project is set to expand irrigated land from 12,855 to 20,000 acres, improving the livelihoods of approximately 6,500 households.
Producing diverse high-value crops, this project boasts strong economic viability with an estimated annual income of over KES 500 million.
These projects underscore our commitment to sustainable irrigation development significantly contributing to the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation (BETA) on food security
