CS Visit To Galana Kulalu Model Farm
The CS, Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Sicily K. Kariuki (Mrs) EGH accompanied by the Irrigation Secretary, Mr. Aboud Moeva inspected Galana Kulalu Model Farm on October 25, 2021. The CEO, National Irrigation Authority, Mr. Gitonga Mugambi and other officials from the Authority received them.
She was impressed with the progress of works, notably the maize plantations, trials at the demonstration farm and on-going construction works. She urged the contractor to ensure the remaining works are completed within the stipulated time. The current completion status of Lot 2 of the model farm is currently at 72% and is set to be complete by January 2022.
National Irrigation Authority is doing trials for BT cotton, bananas, mangoes, pineapples, citrus, cashew nuts, and palm in a 13-acre demonstration farm set aside in the model farm for diversification.
